Making friends and talking trumpet in Beijing at CCM! Many good players and much good music was played in the BRAND NEW CCM Big Band!!!

Beijing is a real hot bed for music and jazz is starting to take hold with many talented players in the area. Keep your eyes and ears open for MUCH more to come from Beijing!!

Recent Happenings

VELOCITY - Mark's new 13 piece lean mean Big Be-Bop Band debut performance March 12, 5:30pm, Northop H.S. Jazz Festival, Fort Wayne, IN

The first annual Fort Wayne Big Band Jazz Fest was a huge success with over 100 musicians and 5 big bands swinging all afternoon. Can't wait till next years fest.

The MVCJO Tito Puente Tribute Concert was Mambo-liscious! Our expanded latin percussion section roared all night in true Tito fashion! We just may have to do this again! ....and soon!

The Maynard Ferguson Birthday Tribute Concert was a real BLAST! Raising funds for the award winning Snider music dept. it is an honor to help continue this tradition with this concert celebrating his May 4th birthday.

The WBOI Jazz Fest was a gala evening of Jazz! We played a rousing set of Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson arrangements and ended with the trumpet section in the audience ala MF on Hey Jude!

The MVCJO "Tribute to the Big Band Vocatlist" was a terrific way to start 2010! Dan Heath and Karen Offerle-Wilcoxson joined the band as guest vocalists for this stnding room only concert!

The MVCJO "CHRISTMAS AT THE STARLIGHT" Christmas musical was a terrific success! 2 SOLD OUT performances complete with full dinner.

COUNT BASIE TRIBUTE! The MVCJO will be performing a musical tribute to Count Basie and his music on November 21st at 2pm at the brand new Allen County Pulbic Library Auditorium.

MVCJO Plays MAYNARD FERGUSON! The MVCJO will be performing a musical tribute to the great Maynard Ferguson and his music on September 18th at 7pm at the beautiful Sweetwater Auditorium.
